Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by removing any packaging from your bone-in ham, and pat it dry with paper towels to ensure the glaze adheres well. Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the ham in a criss-cross pattern, cutting about 1/4 inch deep.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of honey, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves, and 1/4 cup of pineapple juice. Whisk ingredients together until smooth.
- Generously brush the prepared glaze over the entire surface of the ham, ensuring that it seeps into the scored cuts.
- Place the glazed ham on a roasting rack set inside a large roasting pan. Bake it in a preheated oven at 275°F (135°C) for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Baste the ham with the reserved glaze every 20 minutes.
- In the final 15 minutes of baking, increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) to create a golden crust.
- Once the ham is beautifully browned and cooked through, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
